What is Dual Diagnosis?
Dual Diagnosis is used to describe someone experiencing both mental health and substance misuse issues.
Mental health issues could include:

- Borderline Personality Disorder
Substance misuse is not just defined by illegal substances. Prescription and non-prescription drugs may also be misused, such as:
- Paracetamol
- Codeine
- Valium
For example, an individual suffering from depression, alcohol dependence and taking more than the recommended daily dose of their prescribed medication, may seek support from the dual diagnosis clinic.
